Anne Silva has always approached life’s events with an inquisitive eye. Her love of writing began at a young age. She considers writing as “painting with words.” She taught this creative strategy to the many students who passed through her classroom. Creative, unique, and unforgettable were often the comments shared on her grade school report cards. To this day, her closest friends think of her the same way. Growing up in a small Minnesota town near the great Mississippi River, Anne always found great writing material. Proudly, she holds the role of the Middle Born. Her story is one she happily shares in the book. Realizing now that she has come full circle in understanding the whys and how of her young self has brought her great peace. Anne hopes her readers come away with that same peaceful understanding.
She lives in California with her husband, Brent, and their dog, Abby. During her 30-plus years as a public school teacher, she encouraged her students to allow their voices to be heard in their writing. Having done so diminished her students’ intimidation of the written word. Anne often thinks of those days in the classroom. Some of her best times.
Along with her love of writing, she enjoys kayaking, reading, the outdoors, traveling, and staging homes. Spending her summers in Northern Minnesota, on one of the many beautiful lakes, is her favorite place. Their three beautiful grandchildren keep them very busy.
